General
In June 2018 the time had come: the ISO22000:2005 was renewed and replaced by the ISO 22000:2018 standard. For us, the content of this standard is no surprise, because one of our consultants, Paul Besseling, is a member of the Dutch standards committee ISO 22000 of the NEN. Thanks in part to this membership, Précon has knowledge of the latest developments and backgrounds in this standard. In November 2017, Paul was appointed as ISO's representative in the meetings of the Codex Commission of food Hygiene. This committee is working on a revision of the General Principles of Food Hygiene.
The new ISO 22000 standard is set up according to the so-called High Level Structure (HLS). This structure ensures that management systems for quality (ISO 9001), environment (ISO 14001) and health and safety (ISO 45001) can be easily connected. A new component included in ISO 22000 via the HLS is the so-called context analysis. Among other things, this analysis looks at the importance of food safety for the company and for its stakeholders. The hazard analysis according to HACCP and in particular the approach to OPRPs and CCPs has been further developed in the new standard. The approach to HACCP in ISO 22000 is now supported by the European Commission. There is also interest from Codex Alimentarius and other standards such as BRC and GMP+. IFS has CPs in addition to CCPs and refers to ISO 22000.
Target audience
The knowledge day is interesting for QA managers, HACCP team leaders or managers of companies working according to the ISO 22000 standard (or FSSC 22000) or considering doing so. The afternoon is also interesting if your company does not work according to the ISO 22000 standard.
