General

For many companies, the safety of the products is largely determined by the safety of the raw materials. Therefore, we would like to get a grip on the safety of our raw materials. But what is sufficient?

  • Is a GFSI certificate sufficient to safeguard hazards?
  • What is the point of a supplier audit, (analytical) certificate or declaration and when do you do what?
  • Do we have to go through the RASSF notifications every time to update the hazard analysis?
  • We have a comprehensive sampling and analysis plan on raw materials, but what is it actually based on?

If you recognize this, then this training is for you. In the "Hazard Analysis Raw Materials" training, we look not only at the raw materials and the hazards relevant to them, but also at the reliability of the suppliers. Based on these two factors, we determine what measures are appropriate to verify the safety of the raw materials. With this training, the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 852/2004 and standards such as FSSC22000, BRC in IFS are demonstrably met. The NVWA info sheets 64 and 65 are also considered.

Target audience

The training is designed for QA managers, HACCP coordinators and other HACCP team members concerned with commodity safety. The training is also intended for buyers and those who perform audits of suppliers. The training is geared to MBO+/HBO level.

Target

After this training, you will know how raw material safety should be handled in HACCP. With this knowledge you can ensure a good verification of the safety of raw materials and the control by the supplier. You also ensure that the sampling and analysis plan is well-founded. This substantiation is important when you have to defend the verification plans in audits and inspections. In the training we use part of the variety database of Précon. You can purchase the database if you want to apply it for your own use outside the training. Please contact us for more information. More information about the database can be found here. If there is sufficient interest, it is interesting to organize this training at your location. We will gladly make a customized proposal.

Topics

The training consists of two half-day online sessions covering the following 4 topics:

  1. The principles of HACCP and supplier control.
  2. Hazards in raw materials
  3. The reliability of suppliers
  4. The verification plan

Between the two parts, participants are given a practical assignment to put theory directly into practice. The training is completed with a test, in which setting up a verification plan is an important part.

Course participants rate this
training with a 7.7

"It gives more insight into how to better manage resource hazards for your own organization."
"I found the trainer not well prepared, sheets were not in order (often adjusted a-la minute), went very off the cuff and often went back and forth through the presentation making it difficult to follow at times. Also, after the 1st session an email with information would be sent (database with instruction) I never received it (neither did others, for that matter). The risk tables, good to use in practice!"
"Making a commodity hazard analysis can be quite complex, so having a good basic understanding through this training is definitely a must."
"Meaningful information."
"I expected there to be more focus really on commodity hazards. It was a general HACCP story at first. Training went a little messy. I felt like it was not well prepared. Old data in sheets, presentation. When downloading numbers forms and indicated did not correspond."
"Hands-on training with lots of information and interaction between participants."
"It is always good is to exchange views with others on certain topics."
"Gained many new insights and tools to apply this in practice."
"Clear training, both when just starting with the subject and additional insights into an already established system."
"A good foundation for further development."
