Toys are of great importance for children's development. However, children are also a vulnerable target group who are not yet able to set boundaries, signal dangers or avoid them. Therefore, the safety of toys is of crucial importance and is subject to many strict laws and regulations. But when is a product a toy? Which toys are suitable for which age? What are the potential hazards? Then what are the requirements that toys must meet?
Using practical examples, this training course introduces you to the basic principles of toy safety. The training consists of a combination of theory and practical assignments. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity for interaction with the other participants and with the trainer.
Target
After completing this basic training, the participant will be able to:
- Being able to classify a product as a toy or not
- Determining age classification of toys
- Identifying the dangers of toys
- Determine and apply the mandatory warnings and markings in accordance with the Toys Directive 2009/48/EC
- Establish and verify an EC Declaration of Conformity
- Distinguish between the roles and obligations of market participants
