When do you use e-learning?

In your environment, you see more and more companies training their employees through e-learning. You've been hesitant about using e-learning for some time, but you're still sticking with classroom training. Classroom training feels safe. The material is transferred verbally and you can see right away how the employee reacts to it. E-learning, on the other hand, feels like a lot of hassle and you find it too limited. Does this sound recognizable? That's understandable but unfortunate, because in many cases e-learning is an excellent alternative or suitable addition to classroom training.

Time

Lack of time is probably the most frequently cited reason for considering the use of e-learning. Employees can use e-learning independent of time and place. E-learning can also produce the desired learning results within a shorter time frame. This is because you don't have to assume the employee needs the most time to learn, as with classroom training. Using e-learning simplifies the training process. The important thing is to integrate e-learning into the vision of learning and business processes in a good, considered way. A good e-learning party can support you in this.

Simulations

E-learning also means innovative forms of work that can additionally motivate and challenge employees to learn. For example, the employee can practice with vivid simulations that cannot be replicated in practice at any time. E-learning opens doors through the diversity of working forms and the many possibilities of multimedia (software, sounds, images).

Learning at the moment of need

Another case where e-learning can be used excellently is for supporting work activities. The availability of e-learning allows employees to decide when it is convenient to learn something. For example, an instruction can be given classically to a large group of operators once a month. However, if the operators do not need the instruction until weeks later, there is a good chance that they have already forgotten what to do. With e-learning, an employee can access the right information at the right time, just before use.

Combine

We would like to emphasize that e-learning is not always the best or only solution. In many cases, a combination of classroom training and e-learning can lead to the best learning results. For example, if the employee first goes through a digital simulation and then discusses in classroom training what he/she ran into. In this way, the personal contact of the classroom training is combined with the possibilities of e-learning and you as an organization have excellent insight into whether the material is well understood.
