Your own online business academy?

You have been driving a Flintstone car to work for years. Every drive is strenuous and takes a long time. You know the drive would be easier and faster with a modern car. But with work and home busy, you just don't have time to delve into buying a new car. You also don't understand cars at all. What if you make the wrong choice and regret your purchase afterwards?

Now think about how your employees learn and how they are offered training. Could it be better? For example, can employees find the answer to a work-related question? And if you need to be compliant on training, can you easily demonstrate that?

Learning Management System

One way to offer training to employees is to use a Learning Management System (LMS). An LMS is frequently called a portal, academy or university. An academy for your company forms one place with all training materials and all employees. Classroom training, tests, digital self-study modules and reference materials are easy to add and remove. If desired, employee progress can be tracked. In addition, a host of additional features exist, such as filling out questionnaires, forums (e.g., for sharing best practices) and much more. LMSs come in all shapes and sizes with various price tags. Each system has different features. In short: something for everyone. The choice is vast, just like the car.

Capture everything or not?

It sounds ideal. And yet there is a movement of companies that want to give their employees back the ability to learn without recording everything. They believe that learners should know for themselves what and when they want to learn. A system that records everything can be counterproductive. This can be overcome by offering learning materials through a central portal, for example. The employee can then easily access everything, but there is no registration pressure. Do you mainly train employees to be compliant? Then an LMS is a great solution for registering training easily and clearly.

Choose the right system

So think carefully about how you as a company handle education and training. If desired, choose a system that fits this and meets your requirements.

How long will you keep driving the Flintstone car?
