New: online module Legionella

The news has been dominated by the corona virus for almost a year, but another dangerous infection is the legionella bacteria. Everyone knows the common advice that when you come home from vacation: first turn on the faucets in the house. That way you flush the pipes, change the water and prevent the chance of legionella contamination. But did you know that you can contract a legionella infection not only at home, but also at work?

If you work in a manufacturing environment, you can also contract Legionnaires' disease if you perform work with a fire hose reel or high-pressure unit, for example, especially if they are not used very often. And the risk increases if the company has experienced a shutdown. In this module, you'll learn how Legionnaires' disease occurs and what to watch out for. So you'll also learn what can happen if you get sick and what symptoms are associated with legionella infection. Because legionellosis requires different treatment than a "common" pneumonia, it is a good idea to call your doctor immediately when symptoms of legionellosis appear.

The module is intended not only for anyone working in a production environment, but also for company managers, environmental coordinators and business owners. The latter will receive additional information about the laws and regulations concerning legionella and the duty of care, among other things. So you know what your company needs to comply with in order to prevent legionella contamination.
