Learning is everywhere!

It is 11 in the morning and I am enjoying a delicious cup of coffee at our office in Bunnik. A perfect time to reflect on the day. One of the thoughts that comes to mind is a comment from a client: we have very little time to train our employees. I ponder the question and realize that this morning on Foodlog, a news platform, I learned that by analyzing milk, scientists can determine how much grass a cow has eaten. Over breakfast, I learned from my friend how to make a delicious cappuccino with our new espresso machine, and I just learned from my colleague, who is crazy about the Olympics, that red suits in skating offer more air resistance than blue suits. Thinking about this for a moment, this is not the only thing I have already learned today, and it is only 11 o'clock! What have you already learned today without thinking about it? And what about your co-workers in the workplace?

Learning is everywhere! Learning is not only done during a formal moment, for example during the explanation of a production line, a classroom training or when going through an e-learning module. No, the most you learn in between and from each other. For example, through a newspaper article, a YouTube video or a question you ask a colleague. This is something you can make great use of as a company! For example, take a look at the work that employees do at your company and consider whether you can facilitate and encourage learning during work, instead of only scheduling formal learning moments. Learning from each other, being open to questions and explanations. This is how you build a learning organization. And that is good for everyone.
