On December 11, 2018, our colleagues Deborah and Heike traveled to the far South. In the West Flanders town of Kortrijk, they attended the meeting "Innovative learning solutions for Industry 4.0. At this meeting, 10 industrial companies demonstrated innovative technological solutions. In this short blog, our colleagues talk about what impressed them most:
Heike: "First of all, I really like the format of the event. It is really focused on the exchange of knowledge and experience between companies and organizations. Learning from and with each other. I think that's great! Furthermore, I thought it was cool to see how a company in assembly uses performance support through laser technology that gives instructions and feedback to the employee while performing their work. As a result, employees experience a reduced workload and derive more pleasure from their work. A great and accessible application of augmented reality."
Deborah: "The variety of topics at the group sessions was great. Something for everyone! Companies shared their best practices with the audience: which free tools can you use to provide e-learning with animations or infographics, for example, and what are other people's experiences with these tools? The use of some tools was shown briefly, which inspired. I actually immediately wanted to look for a course where we could use an infographic. The different application areas of augmented reality and virtual reality also came up in a session: learning in your own company by making a digital copy of your current field of work. In other words, you learn and see digitally what it's like on your shop floor. Operators learn a lot from it and managers have to spend less time in inducting new colleagues. A win-win situation."
In short: it was a very successful afternoon and evening, from which our colleagues returned with a full belly and a lot of inspiration.
