What is the trigger?
The quality team at HEMA needed an efficient way of working around specification management, with the goal of ensuring an effective specification and labeling process for all parties involved. With this request, Précon went to work with the Technical Manager Food & Personal Care at HEMA.
Working together for efficiency.
Specification process in PIMDAM
HEMA and Précon have been working together for some time, so HEMA's needs were already known and we were able to work together to develop them into a new process. Here it became clear that supporting the HEMA suppliers in filling the specifications in the HEMA application PIMDAM was an important starting point. The lead time from starting the specification process to a validated specification and label text was also a concern. HEMA wanted this process to be more efficient and therefore faster.
Support program
Meanwhile, HEMA's suppliers are offered a support program. Précon offers support by linking an experienced consultant in the field of regulatory affairs to HEMA's supplier right at the start of the specification process. The specification in PIMDAM is checked by Précon against current food legislation and the feedback is discussed with the relevant supplier.
Direct contact between HEMA's supplier and Précon results in complete and legally validated specifications and label texts.
The maximum lead time for completion of the product specification and labeling process has been reduced by as much as half since the introduction of this new way of working. A win for all parties involved!
