Much has changed in the field of packaging legislation in recent years. Recently, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive(PPWD) has been replaced by a European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). This changes the requirements that packaging must meet. Earlier legislation was also expanded to include the Single Use Plastic Directive, Plastic tax, Extended Producer Responsibilities and deposits on cans and PET bottles.
