Frequently asked questions.

What can the Food Law Guide do for me?

The Food Law Guide saves significant time by giving you the law changes in one central location.

The option of a company-specific profile allows you to see only the changes that apply to your company.

And, in the case of the Explained! and Guided! subscription, you'll read a concise summary so you don't have to read through the entire legal text.

What are the differences by subscription?

With Informed! you stay up to date with relevant changes quickly and easily by using a company-specific profile. The laws are categorized in such a way that you can easily assess which laws to add to your profile.

Based on the profile, you will stay up to date on all official law changes relevant to you.

Informed! also offers the ability to consult overviews over a period of time.

Explained! is our most frequently chosen subscription. Being aware of legislation is one thing, but what do the changes mean? Each change in the law is accompanied by a brief explanation, so you don't have to go through the legal text. This saves you time and allows you to anticipate quickly in your business.

With Guided! you are completely unburdened. At the start of the subscription, our consultant visits your company. The intake provides an analysis on raw materials, processes and end products for an optimal design of your profile.

You will receive practical advice tailored to your business 4 times a year on the implementation of legislative changes.

In addition, do you have questions about the interpretation of legislation? Ask all your questions at our regulatory affairs help desk.

Can I use the Food Law Guide with multiple colleagues?

This is certainly possible. If you have a need for this, we can create login credentials for multiple people when you sign up.

This allows you and your colleagues to review and keep track of law changes in the Food Law Guide.

What sources are tracked in the Food Law Guide?

Our editors maintain the following sources on a daily basis:

  • European legislation,
  • National NL legislation, Official Gazette, Government Gazette, Parliamentary Questions, Parliamentary Papers, NVWA notices and info sheets,
  • National BE legislation, Royal decrees, Ministerial decrees, other decrees and orders, FASFC circulars and opinions,
  • Case law and
  • Practice sheets.

So, in addition to new laws and legislative changes, you will also find, for example, Regulatory Consultation Commodities Act reports, Legal Rulings and Protected Designations of Origin in the Food Law Guide.

In each notice you will read the title, the effective date, the link to the official announcement, and in the case of Explained! or Guided! our clear, concise explanation.

The subscription can be expanded to include national Belgian legislation in addition to European and Dutch legislation.

How will the Food Law Guide be filled?

Official sources are updated daily by our editors, and new and amended laws and relevant notices are added to the system. The editors write a clear, concise explanation of each Food Law Guide post.

Our editorial team consists of experienced regulatory affairs professionals who also prepare the quarterly reports for our subscribers. They are also the ones who are there for you when you use the help desk.

Can I set up my own profile?

Because we have organized the laws into main and subgroups, this is very easy. When you click on the applicable groups, you immediately have those relevant laws selected.

You can update your profile indefinitely when, for example, a change in raw materials, products or processes occurs. After you set the profile, the Food Law Guide selects the law changes relevant to you.

You can find these quickly and easily under the "My relevant laws" button.

I lost my login information, where can I go?

Email foodlawguide@precongroup.com or call +31 (0)30 65 66 010 in the Netherlands and +32 (0)11 26 99 07 in Belgium.

Can I export data from the Food Law Guide?

It is possible in the Food Law Guide to export overviews at the touch of a button, for example as a PDF file.

Useful when you want to discuss some messages with your colleagues during your monthly QA meeting. Or if you want to circulate these messages within your organization.
