Your product is selling well, but it could be better. After all, the neighbor's grass is always greener, their marketing campaigns resonate better with the general public, they win audience awards and generate a lot of traffic. How can I determine if my product is better than my competitor's? And how can I use that in my marketing campaign so that my sales increase substantially?
Benchmarking, simply put, is comparing your product against your competitor's product. This includes comparing the quality, performance, claims, packaging and ease of use of the comparable products. It is conducted by an independent party.
The goal is to gain informed insight into how your product performs compared to your competitor's product. Once that has been assessed by an independent party, you can use the results to determine various strategies. If your product scores better than your competitor's, you can take advantage of it. If your product does not score as well as your competitor's product, there is work to be done and product development and/or improvement must be worked on.
Right. To know what your product does compared to your competition, you set up a benchmark project. You determine which products you want to benchmark against your competitor's similar products. You set up benchmark requirements, such as weighting factors per requirement, ... and ...... You have all this done by an independent party, of course.
Précon Quality Services is one such independent party. Besides product safety, quality, laws and regulations, whether something is allowed or not in the field of Non-Food items, Précon Quality Services is more than that. Précon Quality Services also has knowledge and experience with benchmarking at product level. We determine together with you the benchmark project, relieve and guide you in the follow-up process and coordinate the project so that all test results are ready on time. And not unimportantly, Précon Quality Services ensures that these test reports are directly usable in, for example, your new marketing campaign or to improve your product or packaging.
Want to know what the possibilities are for you and when we can start the Benchmark Project together? Call or email Précon Quality Services at pqssupport@precongroup.com and ask for Jan Hopmans or Robin Egter van Wissekerke.
