Support food safety at Fundament. 2060

What is the trigger?

Food safety is always challenging. In this case especially since this is a neighborhood initiative and the focus is on creating together. At Fundament, many volunteers work together on the projects. Many hands make light work and above all fun work! Getting everyone facing the same direction is a challenge though.

Fundament's motto is, "When we do it, we do it right!" The organization wants to make quality, food-safe products that consumers can enjoy with taste and peace of mind.
That's why they chose to engage Précon to be waylaid in the world of HACCP and hygiene.

Our approach.

During a tour by a Précon consultant, all current structures and resources were reviewed and analyzed. What was already present and approved and what still needed to be purchased or replaced. Very practically, all steps of the production process were gone through.

Subsequently, procedures, work instructions and forms were tailored to the VZW. An additional challenge here was that the system must be easy to use for all current and future volunteers, young or old, with or without experience.

Fundament 2060 is now the proud owner of a fully practical written out food safety plan, which will also allow them to perfectly pass future FASFC inspections.

Hygiene training via e-learning

To familiarize the volunteers with food safety, they followed a Précon e-learning in which the basic concepts and principles of HACCP are made clear in an interactive way. This was followed by a food safety and hygiene training specific to the projects at Fundament. It was explained why certain measures are necessary and how everyone can participate in the new system.

With this, Fundament 2060 has a good foundation to offer everyone tasty and safe "Noordlof," Shitaki's and King's oyster mushrooms.

About the company.

The Fundament 2060 collective wants to turn an empty church basement into a unique place in Antwerp North to host innovative, collective, circular civic initiatives.
Their mission: CONNECT.

And everyone agrees that food and drink is a great way to connect people. In addition to the cozy cellar café, the foundation also launched a number of growing programs. For example, organizing a group purchase of chicory roots 'Noordlof' and growing this noordlof in the cellars of the church. And the experiments with the "Mushroom Garden Together.
