Culture change.

Corporate culture is a not very tangible concept. Yet it is certainly possible to bring about culture change. This can be done by focusing on desired behaviors and paying attention to the four elements of the change cycle.

Précon has developed the circle of change as a methodology for bringing about change. The circle consists of the four elements: story, exemplary behavior, systems and competencies. These are the factors that play a crucial role in bringing about change.

Our approach.

1. Story

The first element in the change cycle is having a good story. The story is about the need for change. What does the organization want to achieve? What needs to be improved? This story makes it clear to employees why change is necessary. Management or the board can communicate the need in a variety of ways. Think of speeches, slogans, texts on the website, content of performance reviews, but also, for example, the induction program. It is essential to keep repeating this story at the important moments for the company.

2. Exemplary behavior

The second element of the change cycle is exemplary behavior. To convince employees of the need for change and the importance the organization attaches to it, the example behavior shown by management and staff is a determining factor. They must not only tell the story, but also propagate it by example themselves.

3. Systems

Next, systems are needed in the form of agreements and conditions to clarify what is expected and to facilitate the desired way of working. Think of procedures and work instructions from the quality manual or following hygiene rules within a company. In addition to formal agreements, this also includes informal agreements, such as a division of tasks at the start of a production shift

4. Competencies

The fourth pillar is competencies. Employees need competencies to demonstrate desired behaviors. Education plans and training within the company ensure that they are competent. It is also important that managers are trained to manage behavior.
