The publication of IFS food 7 has been delayed until at least the summer. This is necessary because IFS Food 7 must meet the requirements set forth in (EA 1/22). The review is initiated by the European Accreditation Forum (EA). The EA verifies that a system owner has the technical competence and integrity to implement the standard and that the standard meets the requirements set.
The EA is the European cooperation for accreditation. It is formally appointed by the European Commission in Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008 herein is an agreement signed between all 50 members that once a standard is recognized, it is accepted everywhere and reliability is guaranteed. The EA Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) The (EA 1/22) describes the procedure how the evaluation is carried out and what requirements the standard must meet. When these are met, it can be guaranteed that the standard meets all the requirements for reliability, market application, integrity, etc. The IFS Food 7 will not be published until the evaluation by the accreditation body the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) has been successfully completed. We will of course keep you informed as more information becomes available.
