Do you know how to better protect your company from malicious actions in the food industry? We outline 7 different measures.
Make sure outside personnel, such as a mechanic or contractor, are easily identifiable. Consider a helmet that is a different color than your own personnel, or a badge.
Register visitors upon entry. In addition, give them visitor badges or distinctive clothing so people recognize that they are visitors, and make sure that these individuals are always accompanied by someone from the company.
Make sure that vulnerable areas are properly protected and cannot be entered just like that. Vulnerable areas include areas where products can be easily contaminated, such as the warehouse with raw materials and finished goods, and/or areas where hazardous materials are stored.
Check incoming products and products being delivered for abnormal packaging or labels.
Secure the area around the business by installing fences and monitoring the premises with cameras or security guards.
Secure computers, business cell phones and the network. Provide strong passwords and update systems regularly.
Have employees attendfood defensetraining so they know what to look for to prevent malicious actions.
