In the field of quality standards, there is a lot happening in 2019. For each standard, we give you a brief overview.
As of Feb. 1, the amended BRC Food standard is in effect and the first audits will be conducted according to this standard. The changes with the most impact are the introduction of a food safety and quality culture, the obligation to have a whistleblower policy, and the expansion of environmental testing requirements. The overview of all changes can be found on our website. Here you can download the free cross-reference table, which is a useful tool when implementing the updated standard. Do you need more insight into the changes? Then come to our BRC knowledge afternoons. Do you need more depth around the topic of food safety culture? Then come to our trainings 'Improving food safety culture' and 'Getting a grip on food safety behavior'. Go to our training calendar for more information or to book a knowledge afternoon or training.
By now the ISO 22000:2018 is valid for several months, but you may have yet to start implementing the standard or may be in the middle of implementation. If so, it is good to know that the most important innovation is the introduction of context and stakeholder analysis. In addition, a large number of HACCP definitions have been tightened up, allowing for improved HACCP analysis. Do you need more knowledge regarding the changes? Also in 2019, we will organize several knowledge days. Are you looking for more guidance for your HACCP working method? For years, our HACCP training courses have been based on the principles of ISO 22000. For our training offerings, take a look at our training calendar, or let one of our consultants help review your HACCP study.
The publication of the IFS Food 7 has been delayed until summer 2019. In it, we also expect the introduction of food safety and quality culture. Would you like to familiarize yourself with this in advance? Then come to our training courses 'Improving Food Safety Culture' or 'Getting a Grip on Food Safety Behavior'. You can find more information on our training calendar. Of course we will inform you about the changes in version 7 of IFS Food via knowledge afternoons and a cross-reference table. Keep an eye on our website and LinkedIn for that.
The FSSC2000 standard version 5 is expected in May 2019. This standard will be in line with the ISO22000:2018 standard and the new GFSI requirements. When the standard is published, we will of course inform you about the main changes. Knowledge afternoons on the FSSC22000 will also be added to our training calendar.
BRC recently published the draft version for version 6 of the BRC Packaging Materials. Are you curious what the impact of the changes will be for your company? We have listed the most important changes for you here. We expect the publication of the final version in summer 2019.
Formally, the current version of the IFS Broker standard is not recognized by the GFSI. The updated version that does meet the GFSI requirements is expected in mid-2019. When more is known about this, we will inform you via our website and LinkedIn.
