Digital Twin:
Your business in 360°.

A digital twin is a digital copy of your business. In this 360° environment you can virtually walk through your company and visualize everything in detail. You can use the digital twin for multiple purposes, such as for training purposes, BHV, visualizing working methods and an instructional video to support daily activities.

This forms a great basis for training, explanation and information transfer. Because the user recognizes the images directly in the practical situation, the knowledge is recalled faster where it is needed.

What is a digital twin?

Using a digital twin, you walk through your business. The digital twin uses Virtual Reality (VR). This computer technology makes it seem like you are in another reality.

With the digital twin, you get a virtual tour of your location. This tour consists of 360° images: both photography and video. So you can look completely around you, even behind you. Thanks to information points, you can perform different tasks or find situations. The learning results are increased by offering the information from your own business situation. You can watch additional explanation videos for certain situations and turn a wrong situation into a right one, thanks to interactive elements. The digital twin can be viewed on a computer, tablet or phone.

The transfer to practice.

When you've had online or classroom training, as a student you have to make the translation from theory to practice yourself. How do I apply what I have learned in my work? This is also called "the transfer. Even during a meeting or when discussing incidents on the work floor, people have to make the translation into practice themselves. The digital twin promotes this transfer; because you can walk through your company digitally, it is just as if you were present yourself. This way you learn to apply the theory directly in practice.

Frequently asked questions.

What are some options for digital twinning?
  • Training on various topics, such as food safety, hygiene and procedures;
  • Instruction and performance support;
  • To be used for multiple practical topics, such as food safety and safety and health and safety;
  • Maintenance and installation support, FAFS, sales and marketing calls, complaint handling and consultations.
Can I use the digital twin to maintain my machines?

You can use a digital copy of your company for machine maintenance. This way you can show a TD-er (internal and external) in advance which machine has a problem. By adding any serial numbers to the digital copy, a technician will immediately know what parts and tools to bring for a possible repair. Using instructional videos of machines, operators can also be trained in the digital environment to perform minor repairs on machines. This way of training saves costs: it eliminates the need for a Technical Service employee to be on standby at all times.

Dimensions of rooms are properly displayed. When installing a new machine, you can immediately calculate where the machine should be located and what route can be taken in the plant to get there.

Can I also recreate a FAFS drill in the digital twin?

Yes, that is possible! For example, consider showing all escape routes. An employee can go through the digital environment again and again and somewhere a fire or smoke develops. How do you find your way out if the first emergency door is accidentally blocked? In the Digital Twin, an employee can safely learn the escape routes. This is not only fun and safe for the employee, but also saves time for the employer.

Can I also use the digital twin for marketing?

Yes, you can use the material for marketing purposes. You can show your organization in an optimal situation to a potential customer or supplier. Certain parts of the virtual tour can be made invisible. You can screen off an area in the factory when you don't want a customer to be able to view this area. To the marketing version, you can also add videos of the production process.

The digital tour saves you time and costs. For example, you don't have to bring the factory to tip-top condition on every tour. Sales can use the virtual environment to give customers a good impression of who they are doing business with. By involving marketing, you can improve the appearance of the company. Moreover, in this way you also address the marketing budget in the development phase of the digital twin.

Can I use the digital twin for induction or onboarding training?

It's possible! For example, by showing new employees the digital environment before their first day at work, they immediately get a good picture of your company and know what is expected of them. By means of assignments and interactive elements, they are challenged to get acquainted with important practical basics.

Temporary workers are often given verbal explanations about your organization. They can't always fully imagine where they will soon be working. In addition to an induction process, a gate instruction can be displayed in the digital environment.

Can I use the digital twin for performance support?

The digital twin can be used in performance support: that is learning at the time your employees need it. Employees need to perform cleaning tasks at regular intervals, but how do they clean a particular line or machine? What did checking the machine in that instructional video look like again? In the digital environment, you can include videos, instructions and forms that support workers in performing the work.

Can I also train the topics of food safety, food defense, hygiene and safety through digital twim?

In this virtual environment, you can train new, and current employees, on topics in production, for example. For example, you can add instructional videos of machines or show cleaning instructions. Manuals, instructions and handbooks are increasingly being replaced by online resources. Increasingly, information and instruction on paper is supported by images. The digital twin can be used for the topic of food safety, but also for health and safety, for example, by showing escape routes.

How do you create the 360° images?

To create these images, we partner with Omni VR. Omni VR specializes in creating 360° photos and videos. They believe that properly visualizing a location or product gives a lot of transparency and increases the potential customer's trust, as they can virtually visit a location 24/7.
